Having serviced at large investment institutions for years, our partners firmly believe that the world of investment is changing rapidly while the investment strategies are becoming more and more complacent and correlated. We incorporated our belief in June of 2012 into M.Y. Capital Management Corp. On November 1st, we received registration approval for the province of B.C and Ontario as Portfolio manager, Investment fund manager and exempt market dealer.

In the spring of 2013, we launched our first absolute return driven fund based on Marcus Xu’s AIMA-Canada award winning research paper “Naïve low-volatility equity strategies are risky” with our first one million dollar raised from our partners, friends & families.

In April of 2014, we started our second long-biased China-focused strategy as a sub-advisor for our first institutional investor.

In March of 2015, we successfully hired our first non-founder portfolio manager who would be responsible for opening up our segregated portfolio management business. After that, there has also been much collaboration between our segregated accounts with our fund management business

In May of 2016, it was a great pleasure for us to have become a member of AIMA-Canada (Alternative Investment Management Association).
